Relevant context: an outdoor destination wedding in Todi, Umbria, with ceremony sound, aperitivo music, dinner atmosphere and a final DJ party at Tenuta di Canonica.
When Jakob and Christine contacted me from Germany, they were not simply looking for someone to play music at the end of their wedding.
They were planning a summer destination wedding in Umbria, at Tenuta di Canonica, one of those places where the landscape already creates part of the atmosphere before the music even starts.
The hills around Todi, the stone architecture, the silence of the countryside and the warm light of the Italian summer all had to become part of the experience.
Before the wedding day, the work included one meeting with the couple and two inspections at the venue. This allowed me to understand the real spaces of Tenuta di Canonica, the movement of the guests and the technical needs of each moment.
Jakob and Christine were also deeply involved in the music preparation. They shared detailed playlists for the different moments of the day, giving me a clear understanding of their musical taste, their references and the atmosphere they wanted to create.
The challenge was clear from the beginning: the music could not feel like a separate service added to the wedding day. It had to follow the rhythm of the celebration, support the emotion of each moment and then, at the right time, transform the elegance of the day into a powerful final party.
This is why the work started with a custom Sound Identity for the entire wedding.
Their playlists became the foundation of the music direction. From there, my role was to transform their ideas into a real wedding flow: adapting the music to the venue, the timing, the outdoor spaces and the energy of the guests throughout the day.
The result was not a rigid playlist, but a musical experience shaped by the couple and guided in real time during the wedding.
A Music Direction Built from the Couple’s Playlists
One of the strongest parts of this wedding was the preparation.
Jakob and Christine were very involved in the music planning. They shared detailed playlists for the different moments of the day, helping me understand not only the songs they liked, but the atmosphere they imagined for each part of the wedding.
This was extremely useful.
Their playlists gave structure, taste and emotional direction to the project. My work was to use those references without turning the wedding into a fixed sequence of tracks.
The music had to remain alive.
During the wedding, I used their indications as the foundation, then adapted the flow to the real timing of the day, the outdoor spaces of Tenuta di Canonica and the reaction of the guests.
This balance between careful preparation and live sensitivity made the whole experience feel personal, natural and never forced.

Ceremony Sound near the Cypress Trees
The ceremony took place outdoors, on a beautiful lawn behind the villa, close to the cypress trees.
The sound setup had to be clear but almost invisible. The speakers were carefully hidden, so the music and voices could reach the guests without disturbing the natural elegance of the setting.
In a place like Tenuta di Canonica, this detail matters. The technical side should never dominate the scene. It should simply make the moment feel natural, intimate and emotionally complete.

Sunset Aperitivo by the Pool and Umbrian Panorama
After the ceremony, the aperitivo moved to the side of the villa, facing the Umbrian landscape and the pool.
This part of the day had a relaxed and beautiful energy. The sunset gave the moment a warm, cinematic atmosphere, and the music had to follow that light without pushing the party too early.
The sound direction was elegant and fluid: deep house, soft grooves and refined sunset sounds, creating a bridge between the emotion of the ceremony and the evening ahead.
The goal was simple: let the guests relax, enjoy the view and slowly enter the atmosphere of the night.

Open-Air Dinner in Front of the Villa Lawn
Dinner was served outdoors, with the tables arranged in front of the villa lawn.
Here the music needed to become more subtle. It had to support conversation, keep the atmosphere alive and continue the emotional thread created during the ceremony and aperitivo.
For a destination wedding in Umbria, dinner music should never feel random. It should belong to the place, to the couple and to the rhythm of the evening.
This was the quiet middle point of the wedding: elegant, warm and suspended before the energy of the final party.

Cake Cutting beside the Ancient Olive Tree
The cake cutting took place beside a centuries-old olive tree.
It was a short but highly visual moment: the couple, the table, the tree, the outdoor setting and the guests gathered around them.
The music here had one purpose: to frame the scene and give the moment emotional focus before the celebration moved toward the party.
In a wedding like this, even a short transition can become memorable when it is placed in the right setting and supported by the right sound.

Final Party under the Villa Portico
The final party took place under the portico at the entrance of the villa.
After a day lived entirely outdoors, this space became the natural point where the wedding changed energy. The elegance of the ceremony, sunset, dinner and cake cutting turned into a real dance floor.
The DJ set was supported by synchronized lighting, designed to follow the rhythm of the music and create a stronger visual impact.
This is where the Sound Identity reached its final form: international party energy, 80s and 90s references, Italian moments, strong timing and a music flow built in real time around the guests.
The result was a dance floor that stayed alive for more than five hours, with guests dancing until the morning hours and the atmosphere never losing intensity.

From the Final Setup to the Dance Floor Energy
A Wedding Party Designed to Grow, Not Just Start
The strongest part of Jakob and Christine’s wedding was not only that the dance floor started well.
It kept going.
The music flow had to connect international guests, different generations and different musical references, moving between deep house, international hits, 80s and 90s energy, Italian classics and party tracks selected in real time.
That night, the party did not feel like a separate ending. It felt like the natural explosion of the whole day.
This is the difference between playing music and designing a wedding party experience.

A Personal Thank You
I am sincerely grateful to Jakob and Christine for choosing me for their wedding at Tenuta di Canonica and for trusting me with such an important part of their celebration.
Being part of a wedding day means much more than providing music. It means contributing to the atmosphere, the emotions, the timing and the memories that the couple and their guests will carry with them.
For this reason, I am truly thankful that they allowed me to contribute to the success of their wedding celebration in Todi.
Planning a Wedding at Tenuta di Canonica or in Umbria?
If you are planning a destination wedding at Tenuta di Canonica, in Todi or in another outdoor wedding venue in Umbria, the music should follow the real structure of the day.
Ceremony, aperitivo, dinner, cake cutting and final party all need a different atmosphere, but they should feel connected to the same emotional story.
That is the purpose of a custom Sound Identity: creating a wedding music experience that feels elegant, natural and powerful from beginning to end.
